House of Parliament trip

Our school council representatives enjoyed the annual residential trip to London. Enjoying the coach ride down, followed by a trip on the Thames on a UBER boat. They then stayed overnight and had a tour of the House of Parliament the next day. This is an important opportunity for our school council members to visit our capital and where the Members of Parliament make their decisions. 

Christmas disco

The students had a brilliant time showcasing their amazing dance moves and Christmas party clothes!

Bendrigg residential trip 2025

Our students attended a residential trip for 5 days staying in the Lake District at the fabulous Bendrigg facility. They took part in lots of outward bound activities supported by our staff and the amazing staff at Bendrigg. Please look out for information regarding our residential trip in 2026.

Christening

On the 14th May 2025 we held a mock christening in The Grove so that our students could take part and experience the ceremony process.
The service was conducted by The Revd. Canon Philip Brent, the vicar in charge at St Lawrence’s Church in Scunthorpe.
Our students took up the parts of parents and Godparents and they all enjoyed watching in the sunshine.

RHS level 2 – Schools gardening

Having already recived level 1,2 and 3 the students that have been studying horticulture have now been awarded RHS level 4 in schools gardening. This is a fantastic achievment. Students have been utilising the new flower and vegetable trugs in The Grove and we all look forward to seeing the changes happening in them each day.

Easter fayre

We held our Easter fayre on the 4th April 2025 and welcomed our parents carers into school. We raised an incredible amount of money from the stalls our students ran and the bake for Bendrigg sale for FOSH who shared the below:
FOSH would like to say a huge “Thank you” to everyone who entered our
recent Bake for Bendrigg competition. There were some fabulous bakes. Our
judges from Canpack had a very difficult job choosing the winners,which can
be seen below.
All your lovely bakes were then sold at our Easter fayre. An amazing £365.51
was raised for the residential trip to Bendrigg.

STEM day

Our STEM week from the 24th March 2025 focussed on Biomicry this year. It gave the students lots of different opportunities including Zoolab Biomimicry Workshops involving real animals and bio wind turbines.

World Book Day

Take a look at the amazing story doors that have been created in school. These have been linked to students favourite books. This is just one of the many activities linked to World book day in school.

 

 

Our new Sensory Tunnel

During the February half term we had a new Sensory Tunnel fitted. This provides another outside sensory space that is accessible for all of our students. The coloured perspex panels provide lots of different light patterns depending on where the sun is shining or if it has been raining. There are textured shapes and instruments to make different noises. It also has a raised planter that contains sensory plants and herbs. Students are enjoying exploring our new resource and we have received lots of positive feedback.

 

 

School Solar Panels

Our solar panels have been fitted! The students have enjoyed learning about the benefits the solar panels will bring to the school and how they will produce energy.

The monitor installed in our school reception is showing the energy we are producing. students can see the difference between a sunny day and a cloudy day.
